I was booked on the ‘Golden Triangle & The Tigers of Ranthambore’ Escorted Tour with Cosmos Holidays.
Let’s be honest, India isn’t at the top of everybody’s bucket list. I quickly learned that it certainly should be. When I got the call to say my trip to India was confirmed, I was nervous and excited all at the same time. I had all sorts running through my head; What was I going to eat? What should I pack? Is it safe? Do I need a visa to enter India?
I needn’t have worried! Yes, I needed a visa but this was easily completed online. I had a couple of injections from the doctor (Hep B and a Tetanus boost) packing was sorted with a little research online and I’ve learned the food served in India is fantastic.
What is the ‘Golden Triangle’? – at a glance, it’s the 3 most visited cities in North-West India: Delhi, Agra & Jaipur. Visitors usually begin in Delhi, India’s capital, then travel South to the famous Taj Mahal in Agra before heading West to the desert of Rajasthan, key highlight here being Jaipur, the Pink City.
My India Roundup : What a place… there was never a dull moment; from the bus journeys to the walking tours and not forgetting the incredible locations, the Golden Triangle was everything I expected and more! Each destination brought a deeper insight into the local culture and way of life. I wish I had more time – I’d have loved to add an extension onto the tour and see more of India! But now it just means that I have to go back!
